MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A former auto salvage yard along Business 28 is set to be transformed into a 315-unit luxury apartment community, bringing one of the latest major residential developments to the Milford-Miami Township area.
The Conrad Apartments will be built at 1005 Business 28 in Milford, on the former Trester Auto Parts and Salvage Yard site. Developer Metropolitan Holdings says the project will create a four-story, market-rate apartment community with resort-style amenities.
Plans for the complex include a swimming pool with sun deck, fitness center, movie theater, business center, pickleball court, golf simulator, game lawn, pet washing station, and a one-acre dog park. The development is also expected to include surface and garage parking along with landscaping aimed at creating a more walkable residential site.
Metropolitan Holdings says the site was chosen partly because of its location along OH-28, around one mile from Interstate 275 and about 30 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
The project is likely to draw continued local attention because of its scale. Business 28 is a two-lane road, and some residents have raised concerns about whether existing roads and infrastructure can handle a lengthy construction period and the traffic that could come with hundreds of new residents.
Lease rates have not yet been released and the units will not be classed as affordable housing.
Metropolitan Holdings founder and CEO Matthew R. Vekasy said Miami Township had identified a need for high-quality rental housing to help retain residents and attract new households. The company said the project follows its Skytop Apartments development in Anderson Township, which it says has seen strong demand since opening.
