BATAVIA, Ohio — A man is facing charges after authorities say he damaged property just hours after being served with a protection order in Clermont County.
According to court records, Thomas R. Tarte, 52, is accused of violating a protection order and criminal damaging following an incident on Monday.
Deputies say they were called to a property in Batavia Township where multiple trailer tires had been stabbed and left deflated.
The report states Tarte had been seen earlier in the day walking away from the property. He had also recently been served with a protection order requiring him to leave his residence and avoid alcohol.
Authorities later located Tarte walking in the roadway on Winemiller Lane, where he was described as visibly intoxicated. He was taken into custody, and deputies reported finding a bottle of vodka in his backpack.
Court records show a $25,000 bond was set in the case.
