UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 19-year-old driver accused of killing a survey worker on State Route 125 is being held on a $1 million bond after being indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide and OVI charges.
Prince Patel is facing a seven-count indictment in Clermont County following the April 21 crash that killed Kevin Fuller, 36, of Arkansas.
The crash happened at approximately 6:22 p.m. on State Route 125 near Randolph Lane in Union Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fuller was performing survey work in the two-way left-turn lane when he was struck by an eastbound 2024 Tesla Model Y.
Fuller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Patel was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with minor injuries before being booked into the Clermont County Jail.
A Clermont County grand jury indicted Patel on five counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence. Court records show bond was set at $1 million during a Wednesday court appearance.
The crash drew particular attention because Fuller was working on the roadway when he was killed — during National Work Zone Awareness Week, an annual campaign aimed at reminding drivers to slow down and use caution around road crews and roadside workers.
Patel has not been convicted of the charges.
