CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A Cincinnati woman is facing three separate theft cases in Clermont County after authorities accused her of stealing merchandise from TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty, and Dollar General in incidents spanning March and April.
Court records filed Monday identify the defendant as Shaniell Renee Jean Metcalf, 29. Two of the cases were filed by Union Township police, while a third was filed by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.
According to one complaint, Metcalf and an alleged accomplice, identified as Lantrell Johnson, entered the TJ Maxx store at 458 Ohio Pike in Union Township on April 6. Police said the pair each selected a handbag, then moved through the store concealing merchandise inside them before leaving without paying. The total value of the stolen items was listed as $590.70.
In a second case, police said Metcalf was seen on surveillance video entering the Ulta Beauty store at 700 Eastgate South Drive in Union Township on March 13. According to the complaint, she picked up an orange bag inside the store, moved through several aisles, concealed merchandise in the bag, then passed all points of sale without attempting to pay. The total value of the merchandise in that case was listed as $351.50.
A third complaint filed by the sheriff’s office accuses Metcalf of pushing a cart of unpaid merchandise out of the Dollar General at 41 W. Main St. in Amelia on April 12. Authorities said she loaded the items into a gray Ford registered in her name and refused when an employee asked her to return inside and pay.
The value of the merchandise in the Dollar General case was not listed in the complaint included in court records reviewed Tuesday.
All three cases were filed as first-degree misdemeanor theft charges in Clermont County Municipal Court. Court records show warrants were issued in each case on April 13.
