Michigan fugitive crashes stolen car into Clermont County police cruiser after leading officers on chase; one officer hurt

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Michigan fugitive wanted for violent parole violations is behind bars after a chaotic chain of events Tuesday in Clermont County that began with an assault, led to a stolen vehicle chase, and ended when the suspect plowed a stolen car into two civilian vehicles and a police cruiser before fleeing on foot.

Goshen Township officers were dispatched to Meadowview Townhomes on Tuesday for a reported assault. Investigators say the suspect, later identified as Keon Humphries, 32, attacked a victim and then stole that victim’s vehicle and fled the scene.

Humphries was already wanted in Michigan on parole violation charges tied to violent offenses when officers located the stolen vehicle near the intersection of State Route 28 and Deerfield Road. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Humphries refused to pull over, and a pursuit began.
