UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Cincinnati-area man is facing two first-degree felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide after investigators say a survey worker was struck and killed Tuesday evening on State Route 125 in Union Township.
Court records filed Wednesday in Clermont County Municipal Court show Prince Kalpesh Patel, of Cincinnati, is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular homicide — recklessly in connection with the April 21 crash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 4 before Judge Anita M. Bechmann in Batavia.
The fatal crash happened at about 6:22 p.m. on State Route 125 near Bennett Road, a busy stretch of roadway running through Union Township.
Investigators say Kevin Fuller, 36, of Lafayette, Arkansas, was performing survey work in a two-way left-turn lane when he was struck by an eastbound 2024 Tesla Model Y. Fuller died at the scene.
Patel was taken by ambulance to a Cincinnati hospital with minor injuries and was later booked into jail.
The case stems from a crash on one of Union Township’s main east-west corridors, a heavily traveled route used by commuters and local traffic moving through the heart of Clermont County.
Court records show Patel appeared for a bond hearing Wednesday morning. A warrant was issued and served the same day, and a warrant to commit to the Clermont County Jail was later filed.
In addition to the homicide charges now before the court, the case originated as a traffic investigation tied to the fatal crash.
Prosecutors are pursuing two separate felony counts tied to the same death, reflecting different legal theories as the case moves through preliminary proceedings.
Patel is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing May 4 in Clermont County Municipal Court.
The crash remains under investigation.
