WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio — Demolition crews have begun tearing down the former Williamsburg High School building at the corner of Main and Fifth streets, clearing the site for future educational development.

The project aligns with the Williamsburg Local School District’s long-range facilities master plan. Officials have indicated that the cleared land will accommodate construction of a new elementary school, targeted to open for the 2027-2028 academic year. The old high school structure, no longer in use for classes, has stood vacant for years following district consolidations and building updates elsewhere.
