CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Clermont County residents are being warned to keep an eye on the weather Saturday, as rain and thunderstorms move into the Tri-State with the possibility of isolated strong to severe storms.
The main concern is damaging wind gusts, according to the latest regional forecast.
Rain is expected to move into the Cincinnati area after around 6 a.m. Saturday, with occasional rain and thunderstorms possible through early Sunday morning. The strongest window appears to be Saturday afternoon, when an isolated thunderstorm could become strong or severe.
For Clermont County, the local forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies Saturday with showers and thunderstorms possible. Some thunderstorms could bring hail and damaging winds. Saturday’s high is expected to be around 78 degrees, with overnight lows near 63.
Residents should make sure outdoor items are secured before the storms arrive, especially garden furniture, bins, umbrellas, trampolines and loose decorations. Drivers should also be prepared for reduced visibility, ponding on roads and sudden gusts of wind during heavier showers or storms.
The forecast points to an isolated severe threat rather than a widespread outbreak for Clermont County. However, residents should keep checking alerts through Saturday, as storm timing and intensity can change quickly.
The storm threat comes ahead of a much warmer stretch, with Sunday forecast to turn mostly sunny. Temperatures could climb close to 90 degrees by early next week.
