CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Heavy rain and powerful overnight storms swept through the Tri-State — bringing down trees, cutting power, and triggering flooding concerns across Clermont County and surrounding areas.
The storms rolled in late Monday night, with strong winds and intense downpours continuing into the early hours of Tuesday.
Across the region, trees were knocked down, and power outages were reported as the system moved through.
Forecasters had warned of strong to severe storms, with damaging wind gusts the primary threat as the line of weather pushed east across southwest Ohio overnight.
A flood advisory was also issued covering Clermont County, as between one and two inches of rain fell in a short space of time — raising concerns about minor flooding in low-lying and poorly drained areas.
The storm system is part of a wider burst of severe weather impacting large parts of the Midwest, with heavy rain, strong winds and power outages reported across multiple states.
Officials are continuing to monitor any damage and are urging residents to remain cautious, particularly around downed trees, debris and any potential flooding hotspots.
Locally, conditions are expected to gradually improve through Tuesday, with skies clearing later in the day — although more rain and storm chances are expected to return late Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
