UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Clermont County man is facing a felony charge after police say he tampered with a drug test following a traffic stop outside a busy Eastgate shopping area.
Court records show Joshua L. Icard, 35, of Lynchburg, is charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
According to a police affidavit, officers were first called to a parking complaint at the Walmart on Eastgate Square Drive on April 25.
Police say a vehicle with expired plates was located, and Icard — who was reportedly under license suspension — was found behind the wheel.
Officers conducted a traffic stop shortly after, noting the vehicle was slow to pull over. When police made contact, Icard was described as unable to stay still and showing signs of possible drug impairment.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Union Township Police Department, where he agreed to provide a urine sample.
However, according to investigators, Icard tampered with the test by placing the collection tube into toilet water instead of providing a valid sample, rendering the test unusable.
He was later transported to the Clermont County Jail.
Court records show a bond hearing was scheduled for April 27.
