YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio — Former First Lady Michelle Obama visited Yellow Springs on April 12 to record a live episode of her podcast with comedian Dave Chappelle.

The event took place at the newly restored Union Schoolhouse, which now serves as the home of WYSO 91.3 FM. The appearance was part of Obama’s weekly podcast “IMO,” produced by High Ground, the media company she founded with former President Barack Obama.

Chappelle, who has longstanding ties to Yellow Springs, played a key role in preserving the historic building through investment by his real estate company. The property, originally built in 1872, was one of the village’s earliest integrated schools before sitting vacant for years.
