Former Clermont County daycare worker charged with tampering with evidence after admitting to kissing child

PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An 18-year-old former daycare worker is facing a criminal charge after allegedly having inappropriate contact with a child in his care and later deleting potential evidence from his phone, according to Clermont County court records.

Christopher Helmer, of Amelia, has been charged with tampering with evidence following an investigation by Pierce Township police.

Court documents state Helmer admitted to detectives that he kissed a child at the daycare where he worked and told investigators he had developed a sexual interest in the child.
