UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Two men are facing charges after police say they worked together to carry out a series of coordinated thefts at a Clermont County Meijer store, walking out with more than $800 in merchandise across multiple incidents.
Court records show Max Brockman, 37, and Joshua Brockman, 44, were both charged April 6 in connection with multiple thefts at the Meijer on Eastgate North Drive.
According to affidavits, police were called to the store on March 20 after loss prevention staff flagged a series of theft incidents. Investigators say the scheme played out across at least two separate visits.
On March 14, Max Brockman allegedly selected cleaning supplies totaling $522.19 and walked out through all points of sale without paying. Court documents allege Joshua Brockman approached a store employee near the exit and engaged them in conversation — a move investigators say was intended to distract staff and allow the theft to go undetected. Both men then left the store and drove away in a tan Ford vehicle with no license plate displayed.
A separate incident on March 9 involved Max Brockman allegedly taking $314.85 worth of merchandise from the same store. Joshua Brockman is also charged with complicity in that incident.
Investigators used a reverse search through Bureau of Motor Vehicles records to identify the tan Ford as belonging to Joshua Brockman, connecting both men to the thefts.
Max Brockman faces theft charges in connection with both incidents. Joshua Brockman is charged with complicity to theft in each case.
Both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
