CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A major bridge repair project will shut down a key roadway over Interstate 275 for more than a year, forcing drivers to detour through surrounding communities in northern Clermont County.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says crews will begin work on the Branch Hill–Miamiville Road bridge over I-275, a local connector used by drivers traveling between Loveland, Miami Township and nearby areas.
The project involves what officials call “bridge rehabilitation,” a process that includes replacing the bridge deck — the surface vehicles drive on — repairing structural components such as bearings, and repainting the structure to extend its lifespan.
As part of the project, Branch Hill–Miamiville Road is expected to close for roughly 150 days starting the week of April 1. During that time, drivers will be detoured using state Route 126, Wards Corner Road and Branch Hill Guinea Pike.
While traffic on I-275 will continue to flow, motorists can expect periodic lane closures on the interstate during evening and overnight hours as crews carry out work overhead.
The closure is expected to shift local traffic onto nearby routes, particularly during peak travel times, as drivers who normally use the bridge to cross the interstate are redirected.
The project has been awarded to Eagle Bridge Company under a contract worth just over $3 million. Construction is expected to continue through August 2027.
