BATAVIA, Ohio — A Loveland inmate is accused of damaging a phone
inside the Clermont County Jail while arguing about bond during a recorded call.
According to a criminal complaint, deputies responded to a report of
property damage at the jail on East Filager Road on March 15.
Investigators say the sound receiver on a jail phone had been broken.
Staff told deputies the phone had been used shortly beforehand by David
Williams of Loveland.
Authorities say a recording of the call captured Williams arguing before
a loud crash was heard.
Williams has since been charged with vandalism, a fifth-degree felony,
for allegedly damaging government property.
