CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A man was arrested Tuesday in Clermont County after police say he was driving a stolen vehicle and failed to stop for officers.
According to a complaint filed in Clermont County Municipal Court, Officer Earley initiated a traffic stop Tuesday after noticing a black Ford truck without a visible license plate on East Filager Road in Batavia. Court records state the driver continued northbound after the officer activated emergency lights and sirens, at one point passing another vehicle by briefly entering oncoming traffic before eventually pulling over on Bridlepath.
Police identified the driver as Benjamin Matthew Brinker, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Officers later determined the truck had been reported stolen by the Lockland Police Department, according to the complaint.
Brinker was taken into custody and transported to the Clermont County Jail.
Court records state that while being booked into the jail, Brinker told officers he had a meth pipe hidden in his underwear.
He faces charges including receiving stolen property and failure to comply with a police order, according to court documents.
The case remains pending in Clermont County Municipal Court.
